Some of you football fans out there might be interested to hear that we are now getting involved in the sponsorship of a football team in Malawi which surprisingly enough is called the ARK Football Club (AFC). Our motto is the “The sky is the limit” (which is pretty much the ARK motto for everything else too!).
The team is made up of boys aged between 13-17 years old who are all well behaved school goers and they all train and play with the permission of their parents and/or guardians (to make sure football is not keeping them from other important tasks). So far, we are only playing friendly matches (Played 6, Won 4, Lost 2) however we do have a coach and a lot of spirit and optimism and we hope to start playing in a league in the not too distant future.
We have been able to sponsor the team a little bit so far, by buying them a couple of new footballs; however we are looking for sponsors who might be interested in buying them some kit. If anyone has any contacts at a football team or Adidas or whoever makes football kit these days and would be interested in making a few enquiries then please let us know.
